Driving directions ensenada mexico to tecate border crossing?

I'm looking for directions driving from Ensenada Mexico to the Tecate border crossing. I always get lost!

Hello,

Don't worry here in this way is very difficult to get lost, cause in fact the options are not so many.

The only option you have is to cross Tijuana or not, but you will always see Tecate indicated in the signs.

Just take this in consideration :

- If you take the direct way Ensenada - Tecate, the road is very ugly cause is just one course of each side so if you have a heavy truck in front and you are climbing and with curves you wont be able to pass it... is annoying in my oppinion this way.

- If you decide to go crossing Tijuana you will take the "Scenic road" wich is so nice to see cause the road is almost in the coast... here the bad thing is that you will cross by Tijuana a city with a heavy traffic, then after Tijuana you will see road signs to go to Tecate.

Once in Tecate just search the sign that says "International border" or "Garita Internacional" and you will be there... you cannot get lost in Tecate cause is a small city.

previous replies were all good. However, last time in Ensenada, I took the highway that went directly to Tecate. The exit is just a bit north of Coral Hotel and I believe it's Highway 3.  As you come into Tecate, keep going straight. When you see the McDonald's at thye right hand cforner, you're a block away from the main drag. Continue straight up and left at the end. Can't miss the exit to the states.  Just follow the traffic.  Beautiful drive, by the way. Only reason I took it was I don't like TJ, the confusing streets, exits, traffic, etc.....
