  1. Just keep practicing and looking now and then and you will get it.

  2. Practice for it ???? How can you practice for this part of your test ?

The examiner will point at a car in the car park and ask you to read the registration plate. If you can't read the plate that will be the end of your test.

You can either read a plate at the required distance or not ..... but don't worry - if you have normal eyesight it should be fine.

If you are really worried about this book yourself in for an eye test.

  3. uk ? read a vehicle no plate in normal conditions with eyewear that you normally drive in if applicable at a distance of 45 feet. this will probably be done before you get into the test car, fail and you won't do a test

  4. its about 60 feet. why not measure out 60 feet from a parked vehicle and practice reading the plates. when you learn the plate off by heart move on to a different one

  5. Well its 20.5m away get a tape out and measure it!

  6. Buy yourself a tape measure.

    X1 to X2 is measured as 20.5m

X1 = a fixed point. You stand there.

X2 is the measured distance, when a vehicle passes that point you read the plate. It gives you time to check it as it passes you.

  7. 20500 centimetres....

    68 ft.

Pace it out roughly- 20 ish paces. Most people pace about 1 metre

    I think it's about 6 car lengths.
