I'm looking for a parking area or RER station near Calais .So,that we do not have to drive in downtown Paris. We are only going for the day.

  1. If you go in France just for one day, I think it will be difficult by that way.

Do you know there are almost 300 km to drive from Calais to Paris, so about 3 hours ?

RER is a big metro around Paris for the suburb. It doesn't go until Calais.

But maybe you can take a train from Calais to Paris and let your car on the train station in Calais. I don't know exactly how long it will be, maybe about 2h30. I suppose the Eurostar is faster to go from London to Paris, than a simple train from Calais to Paris. So it depends on where is your start point.

Look on the website of french national railway company to pick up the times of the trains :

  2. Why don't you just use the Eurostar channel tunnel train and leave your car in the UK?

It would most likely be less expensive and easier then leaving your car in a car park all day...and then having to transfer to a train anyway!

The train leaves from Saint Pancras International  in London or Ebbsfleet International station and leaves you at the Gare du Nord station in Paris... From there you can use the metro, walk or take a taxi to whatever you want to visit...

    Here is their website:

    Enjoy your trip!
