We haven't decided what route to take yet, but hopefully after this I can suggest a route. Part of the trip is for pleasure so we've decided about 2 days can be spent doing whatever.

  1. Stop in Moose Jaw and do the tunnel tours. The Al Capone one is cool. Any stop in the Rockies would be nice. Don't forget to stop and fill up on gas in Virden, since gas is usually more expensive in Saskatchewan.

*edit anonymous manic the tunnels are so much fun. Who knew educational stuff could be fun?

  2. I would also recommend Drumheller; it's beautiful. And check out the Blackfoot Crossing ... it's a new museum located on the number one highway, just after Brooks.

On the way out, you would also do good to check out Banff and Lake Louis ... absolutely stunning places.

Be sure to bring your camera!! And enjoy your trip!!

  3. If you're staying on the Trans-Canada check out Craigellachie in BC, it's where the last spike was driven on the Canadian Pacific Railroad, it's just a little tourist spot, but its a neat piece of history. It's between Revelstoke and Sicamous.  Also just before you get into Sicamous there's D Dutchman Dairy, they have a bunch of cows and all sorts of random breeds of chicken and they churn their own ice cream and have over a hundred flavours, I'm sure. Tourist buses stop there and it gets really crowded, so if you see a bunch of tour buses you may want to just pass by.

Also between Revelstoke and Sicamous is the Enchanted Forest, it might be better now, but 14 years ago when I was twelve, it was super boring, so I'd say don't get sucked in to wasting your money there.

Have fun on your road trip!

  4. Can I live in your house when you're gone?

uhh, try somewhere in alberta, very beautiful.

  6. Check out Moose Jaw.  There are tunnels you can tour.  They were originally Al Capone's bootlegging tunnels.

I haven't been there yet, but it's on my list of things to see in Canada.

    West Edmonton Mall

    Wine tours in Okanagan

  7. Drumheller, AB is where the Tyrell Dinosaur Museum is.  North of the Trans Canada, west of Brooks, but east of Calgary.  Great place to visit.  If you like golf, they've also got a very challenging course in the badlands, where you go from hoodoo to hoodoo.  Lots of fun.  There is signage for where to turn on the Trans Canada.

  8. Lake Louise, Drumheller (it's like one's on Mars), Kelowna (Edward Scissorhand-like).
