Okay I got my permit. It expires on May 16th. That's when I can legally drive by myself if I pass my driving test before then. If i get a hardship in february and pass my test, will i be able to drive when i get a hardship in february?

  1. Anywhere from 6 to 9 months depending on where you live.

  2. You didn't say what state!  If you are in Texas yes!

  3. Why would you get a hardship licence?  Are you the sole provider who lost his licence to alcohol, and needs to drive to work?  Didn't think so.

What other reason could you have, other than wanting to drive?  And where do you live, some places don't give hardship licences for any reason whatsover.

Edit Jan 25:  You should have given enough information so somebody could actually give you an answer.  I told you straight up, some places do not have hardship licences for any reason in the world.

What I read on the DMV site for Arkansas is granting of hardship licence for work or school to persons whose licence has been suspended.  I see no mention of a hardship licence for a new driver.  All the information is available on this page.
