I am driving a pickup from Tegucigalpa Honduras to the states. What would be the best rout to take in order to get there safely...we need the car in the states, that is why we are not flying. Plus we cant fly because it makes my arms tired.

  1. There is no SAFE route hun...please be careful!!!

  2. My husband's uncle used to drive from Washington DC to Managua, Nicaragua transporting vehicles and encomiendas.  He would take the Pan American Highway (is that the right name?).  He would not take any other route, especially in Mexico, because it could be dangerous.  Where are you planning on going to the US?  He would travel through Texas.

  3. I've lived in Tegucigalpa for a while. Everyone who I knew that drove back to the states said to go North and cross the border to Guatemala. Stay on the Pan American highway into Mexico. In Mexico take the toll roads. The other roads in Mexico are more dangerous. Drive long and hard during daylight hours. Stop when it gets dark. Be extra careful in southern Mexico.

It's a do-able trip. Just take caution and don't do anything foolish.

    Have fun!!!
