When driving a car when are u supposed to drive in second gear ? under what conditions is it necessary to drive in second gear ?

When the speed you're traveling makes it convenient to drive in second gear.  This is going to sound funny, but it comes between driving in first gear and driving in third gear.

If you're wondering when you want to lock your car in 2nd gear (using a shifter on an automatic transmission), then that's a very good question.  It's for descending long, steep hills that would overheat your brakes and cause problems if you came down in drive.  The road off Pike's Peak is a good example of a road where 2nd gear is the ideal choice.
