Why is it that when it starts to rain when you are driving, cars seem to bunch up in clusters? It makes me nervous, especially on the feeeway.

  1. Stupidity and always in a hurry.................

Taking a few precautions and being extra careful will hopefully keep you from being the poor, sopping wet chump on the shoulder of the freeway waiting for a tow truck.

  2. Some people just don't know how to drive in the rain. I hate the drivers that try to drive really fast in the rain. I guess these drivers think if they go really fast they will be able to out run the rain. LOL

  3. what happens is some really wimpy driver slows down causing the other cars to bunch up. You can't be stupid and drive but you also need a little courage and the ability to make quick decisions.

  4. Slow down so your speed will not cause your tires to plane.

You understand plane?  You will drive on top of water, not contact the pavement.

  5. If you are driving in heavy rain, the cars in front of you throw up a lot of water from their tires, and could make it hard to see when trying to pass.  This "bunching up" is usually caused by one idiot who is scared to drive, so slows down to about half the legal speed limit, and then makes it difficult for others to get around him.

Rain could cause some temporarily slippery road surfaces, but it's a lot easier to deal with rain than snow or ice.  If you have a good set of all-weather tires on your car, there is no reason to be nervous about driving in the rain.

  6. It is human nature, safety in numbers. Just like in a train people will always gather near an end .

  7. ur right, and ppl do it anyway, because they can follow someone else easier that make their own way.  V dangerous!
