Question:

Driving instructor sometimes plan to fail you?

I just failed my driving test, and it was my first time taking it.

It sucks because it was near the end.

But heres the wierd thing. At that point there was a small parking lot near by, and another small section that leads to the finish, and they were both close to me. The instructor said: "Take a right and go in there." Those were his exact words. I went into the parking space area and failed.

You see, I didn't know what he meant by "there", because the tone in which he said that sentence made it seem like "go in there" referred to a small area, so I went in the small parking area and failed.

Why was he being so vague? I thought the way he said that was very vague!

Did he actually want me to fail, considering this is my first time?

  1. This wass an examiner. Not an instructor. in 25 years  i heard lots of excuses for failing. unless i see your paper i think  some parts are being left out. I taught thousand to drive and never heard of any one that was failed on purpose. If this is the worst thing to happen to you thats minor to whats ahead . Good luck  get back on the road make sure you feel safe/.

  2. oh are you sreious???? No he doesn't have an evil plot to fail you.

You messed up, and i'm sure he didn't fail you because you turned into the wrong area.

It a driving test not a direction taking test.

  3. You won't have failed by parking in the wrong place. There's more to it than that.  What reason did he give when he said you'd failed?

By the way, he's an examiner, not an instructor.

  4. He was probably gonna fail you anyways, why didn't you explain that you thought he meant the parking lot? Did you signal when you went into the parking lot? Did you jam on your brakes then turn?

  5. .

In the UK examiners give clear, concise verbal instruction. The instruction you were given was not concise nor clear.

    .

  6. I doubt it. you just didn't follow instructions you could have asked him to be more clear.

  7. No..............and instructors dont do this because 1. they have alot of other people to test and 2. they dont want to see you back.

  8. The DRIVING EXAMINER doesn't set out to fail anyone.

At the end of your test, the EXAMINER should spend a few minutes going over your test with you and explaining your errors and how you can improve before you take another test.

There must have been other errors in your driving too. You wouldn't fail just because of a minor error. EXAMINERS have to follow a set of guidelines and certain test routes. Your test is based on points lost for errors made. If you reach a certain score then you fail. (i.e. you go wide on a right turn, 10 demerits, etc.)

Just get over it......, practice, then go back and retake your test. You will have learned a few things by taking a test and know what to expect next time. I hope you also took a few driving lessons from a professional Driving INSTRUCTOR too before you took your test?

Remember, "LUCK" is when preparation meets opportunity!

    So, Good "LUCK".......

  9. Let see I used to be a driver license examiner for the State of Florida and can tell you that in a day I did about 20 driving test.  The Examiner don't get extra points to failed, not does he get extra satisfaction by doing so.  As a matter you failing the test mean that tomorrow you are going to be back at his office to take the test.  If I get a nickel for every person that claim that "he failed me" I will be a rich man today.

It was your test and you failed it.

  10. As a road user you need confidence.

The next time you are unsure what someone wants you to do, you STOP and ask.

Say where do you want me to go, here or there, do you want me to park here or stand still there? And use words like 'next to that black car or past that red mailbox' and such (are mailboxes red where you live ha ha??)

The point is, you were probably failed because you lacked general confidence in your driving.

Same goes for failing: ASK why you were failed because you can learn from your mistakes.

    Good luck next time!
