Driving lesson?

my friend is learning to be a driving instructor and he wants to take me to the trading estate and learn me how to drive, i have a provisional licence but i wont be insured on his car, we wont be driving on the busy roads just just the trading eastate is this allowed?

  1. No its illegal. Any vehicle being used on the public highway must be insured. If you were sure that the trading estate AND it's roads were privately owned you could ask for the owners permission but i don't think they'd agree to it. And if you did get stopped or you had an accident, your friends chances of becoming a driving instructor could be seriously harmed as he would also be committing an offence in allowing his car to be used by an uninsured driver. Don't do it.


  2. Your friend would need to check this first with his or her insurance company and as for driving on the trading estates you will need to ask the owner of the property because of liability.
