  1. You won't even be able to hire a car in England without a valid licence.  If you 'use someones name' for car hire or insurance but you are not entitled to drive then using their name will not help you at all if you are stopped by the police.

In fact they will either make your friend say you did not have permission or if not they will charge your friend with aiding and abetting (that is helping) you to commit a crime.

  2. You wont be able to hire a car without your licence, having said that your friend could hire the car and have you as the co-driver.

Being caught by the police without the said papers will be opening a can of worms I couldn't think where to begin.

Get the number of your licence, that would be a start to ending your worries.

  3. No he cant without your license. If you get caught without a license driving a car in your friends car then your friends license will most likely get taken off him.

  4. You should not drive at all mate, what is the point if your friend put you in his insurance and you don't have licence? if you're visiting the UK you need to have international licence, if caught you will be going to court.

  5. You will need your licence to hire and insure a car. Your friend wont be able to insure it for you without your licence.

You have to be able to produce your driving documents when requested to do so by a Police Officer. Failure to do so is an offence but a document will be given allowing you to do so at a Police station of your choice within 7 days.

  6. you should have a number on your licence as long as you know that you should be fine......

  7. yes

  8. if the police stop you and you cannot present your licence within seven days you may be charged.this is what happens to people in this country if they don't produce their documents
