I took the California driving test and I passed. I haven't received the actual driver's license yet. Can I travel out-of-state and rent a car with the paperwork prooving I passed the test or do I need to to have the actual license?

  1. call 1-800-331-1212 for Avis particulars if you need more assurances

    Driver's License

A temporary driver’s license is acceptable provided it does not have any restrictions and is valid for the entire period of the rental.

  2. I think you have to be 25 to rent a car. So if you are a new driver as in 16 you can't drive a rental car.
