  1. 23,500

    Simplify what you're asking..

    Anything under 5 you round down. Anything above 5 you round up. If it's 5 you generally round up, just to be safe.

    Example, rounding to the nearest hundredth:

    143 -> 100

    178 -> 200

    1,867 -> 1,900

    34,622 -> 34,600.

  2. The answer would be 23,500. The places go as followed: the 2 is the ten thousands place, the 3 is the thousands place, the 4 is the hundreds place, the 5 is the tens place, the 6 is the ones place, and the 9 is the tenTHS place. Numbers after the decimal have the THS suffix. ex. Tenths, hundreths, thousanths.

    The 4 would be the hundred mark.

  3. Determine what your rounding digit is and look to the right of it. If the digit is 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9, your rounding digit rounds up by one number. All the digits that are on the right hand side of the requested rounding digit will become 0.  In this case the rounding digit is 4 because it's the Hundred's place. Look to the right side of the rounding number which is the 4. The number on the right side is 5. The rounding number 4 rounds up by one number. So it's a 5 now. The rest of the digits will become 0. So the answer is 23,500.

    The places go as followed: the 2 is the ten thousands place, the 3 is the thousands place, the 4 is the hundreds place, the 5 is the tens place, the 6 is the ones place, and the 9 is the tenTHS place. Numbers after the decimal have the THS suffix.

    Tenths, hundredths, thousandths, etc.

    The 4 is the hundred mark in this case.

    If the numbers are 5,6,7,8,9 round your rounding digit up. And the rest of the digits become 0.

    If the numbers are 0,1,2,3,4 DO NOT change the rounding number. All the digits on the right of the rounding number become 0.

    Hope I helped
