I don't have the money to buy a new tire until about a week and a half and I have been driving on the spare for about 2 weeks., I know this is not safe, but I have no choice.... Should I be ok if I take it easy for the next week and a half?

  1. You won't have a problem unless you get another flat and are left without a spare.

I have seen a test on those little tires done by Car and Driver. they put those tires on all four locations and did a series of driving test, corner handling tests, speed tests. they didn't have any problems.

I put a couple on the rear locations of my car in high school and tried to blow them out and they are just as good as the originals. You can trust them as long as they have the right amount of air pressure in them. You shouldn't have to worry.

  2. If your drive safely and avoid rough roads it should not a problem. My father drove on a spare for a while and nothing happened.

  3. if your talking about a mini spare they are good for about a 100 miles at 45 miles a hour.. and you shoul d be able to find a used tire for 20 bucks

  4. Yes. I think you'll be fine.

Most manufacterers say not to drive long because of liability concerns.

You should be cautious to avoid potholes, and drive at a decent speed, but you should be fine..

  5. When driving on a spare tire you shouldn't go faster than 40 mph. Usually it might do some damage to the rims if you're not careful of potholes or rocky roads.
