so that when the light either turns yellow or the oncoming traffic has a break you can turn? Because my hubby stops right at the line and pretty much gets stuck there until the light cycles again! IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!!

Obviously I inch forward so I can go when the opportunity arises!

  1. If there's no car ahead of you, move into the middle of intersection and wait there until it's safe to make a turm.  If there's car ahead of you, stop behind the line, move up only if there's enough space ahead and you can make a turn in time before the light turns red, otherwise it's illegal if you get stuck in the middle of the interesection, impeding the flow of traffic.  Just don't get stuck in the middle of interssections,a hefty fine.

  2. It's a preference thing but you need plenty of room to be in the intersection.

  3. I pull into the intersection and wait for either a break in traffic or for the oncoming traffic to be stopped by the light changing. At many busy intersections without a separate turn arrow, if you sit behind the line and wait for enough of a break in traffic to turn, you will be sitting there for several hours!!!

I also try to pull out far enough so that the car behind me can also get into the intersection, so that they can get through on the same light cycle!

  4. no, i just stay at the line until it is fully clear to go....I have 2 small children in the vehicle most of the time and they are too precious to put in danger....

but i know what you mean my hubby does it too! and makes left turns on red.....i know, i know, how horrible is that???!?!

  5. By law , Yes you stop at the line , By moral driving standards now a days , Do what you have to do to make that turn or you never will make it  !

  6. Stop at the marked stop line. If there is not a marked stop line, stop before entering the crosswalk. If there is no crosswalk, stop before entering the intersection. Do not go until the light is green and the intersection is clear.

  7. Check your manual.  Stopping in the middle of an intersection during a turn is considered an illegal left turn.

  8. your not suppose to

cause they say..when your light turns red..the other side gets green and your end up in the middle

although when the light turns orange...or as everybody says yellow..the cars coming from the other side will stop and you will be able to turn

  9. myself i pull up into the intersection, so when it does start to turn to red or yellow i can go
