When I drive on hills I usually don't stall put it isn't smooth i don't know why. It keeps rumbling is it bad for the clutch/transmission? My method of going up a hill is gas to 2.5-3.0k rpm while letting going of the clutch. Is it right?

  1. noob go buy an automatic, clearly u cant drive stick LOL

  2. well your never supposed to rev the gas and let off the clutch at the same time, that burns out your clutch pretty quick. Your supposed to do this simontaneously. As far as shifting uphill, im not 100% but i think its the same way...good luck!

  3. buy an automatic... you obliviously don't know how to drive a manual...

  4. You must shift down so the engine RPMs are around 2500.  In a 5 speed car, you would travel up hill in 3rd gear.

Starting out on a hill, start in 1st & only shift up to 3rd until you crest the hill.

  5. its not how much the rpm's are its more of if its enough you give gas and let off the same time slowly til you feel it move then you give a bit more and let off more til your moving it just takes time to get the hang of it.. taking off on a hill is something you just have to get a feeling for but its the same if you was on flat ground you just have to give more gas

  6. Depends on how steep the hill is. You should be able to let the clutch out slowly and as soon as you start to feel the vehicle pull or stop rolling you should start to give it gas as your letting up on the clutch.  If it's a real steep hill I would give it gas as im doing this. After a while and probably a clutch with your method that will become second nature to you.

If your going up a hill already moving watch the tach if the motor starts lugging downshift push the clutch bump the gas to bring the revs up then let out of the clutch with the car in the lower gear. That should be all one swift fluid motion not some 5 minute procedure. You should no your car well enough to know whether or not you will have to downshift on a givin hill or not before the car starts lugging. Thats not good on a vehicle.

Untill then stay off the road before you roll into me.  Just kidding now your gonna think of that next time your taking off from  a hill and a cars behind you and your gonna kill it.

  7. Just takes practice. You will get the hang of it in no time.
