  1. In terms of drive, as a small city/town car it is cracking, nice and light steering and good visibility all round. In regards to the engine, it all depends on your annual mileage, our rule of thumb used to be if you aren't doing upwards of 16,000 miles p/a stick with a petrol as you pay around £1500 more for a diesel engine, and only at that mileage, will the mpg and fuel economy break even with the extra expenditure. If you are looking for a nippy fuel efficient Modus your best bet in my opinion would be the 1.2 TCE petrol which is a turbo version. Sounds strange I know a turbo on a 1.2 Modus!! Basically when you put your foot down on a dual carriageway it senses you want more power and the turbo kicks in to give more oomphh, whilst around town it isn't engaged and hence your fuel economy isn't jeopardised!!
