is that too much?

my other option is to drive to a train station half an hour away, wait half an hour to get to central station, and then walk uphill for 25 minutes to get there. Its honestly horrible either way!

  1. Both of your options are crummy, but you might as well go the train route, because while actually riding the train, you can read or study some....its not great quality time, but any time you can do 2 things at once is useful to someone busy like you....maybe your final year you can arrange to move closer to school.

  2. Why not find someplace to live closer?  A part-time job (say, in the library) plus the commuting expense savings would go a long way to paying for more expensive lodgings.

  3. Well, that sounds like a hellish commute.  Is there anyone you could carpool with?  That may help.  Post a sign on a board at school.  Or, well... there is the obvious suggestion:  can you move?  Do you have to do the commute every day?  Maybe you could concentrate your classes on two or three days/week?  Good luck.  (I did not enjoy my commute to school and it was only about 30 minutes of highway driving.  Yours sounds much more challenging!)

  4. Are you sure you can't live on or near campus in student housing?  Commuting 3 hours a day (around 1/6 of your awake hours) is absolutely ridiculous.  Talk to your parents about this.

But if you absolutely have to, I would say the train option is better than driving the whole way.  Once you get used to it, it will be less stressful to sit on the train, and you might even be able to do some hw on it.  The walk will also be good for you.

  5. I'd go with the train.  At least on the train, you can read your text books or maybe even do some homework.  You can't do those while you drive.

  6. Every way like that except in China & Russia.
