I'm interested what are the offences if I put some plates from friends old car on un-registerd car and I drive it that way... What would the police do if I get pulled over...

I have the bill of sale, and the car is inspected... But not insured...

Why do I want to do this? Because I dont have a US driving licence and I can get it in 3 months, and then I can register the car on my name... But I need the car now!!! And there is no way I can do that legally

  1. The car will be unregistered, and you will be unlicensed.  Really bad idea.

There's a good chance you will be arrested for suspicion of stolen car.  To make sure the car is not stolen it will be impounded.

    Good Luck....

  2. ok first off the plate thing will get you a seat on the side of the road or in the back of the car until everything gets worked out

the insurance will get you in even more trouble and it varies how deep by the state i have no idea what ri does

whoa whoa you dont even have a freekin license wtf just wait you could get your license taken away(and the car) for a long time not to mention fees

if you are old enough a international license can be made up within a day

this will only work though if the license at your residence is up to date

as far as insurance once you have the international licence the insurance is no big

here call these guys they may even be able to help with the registration and plates etc

    goodluck

  3. If you are caught driving on plates not registered to the car you're driving, the police will assume it's a stolen vehicle. You may get to see a felony arrest firsthand.  It doesn't matter what kind of drivers license you have or whether or not you have insurance. You would be breaking the law.
