  1. more than a ticket..its a misdemenar... big fine..usually no jail [first time]  very, very high insurance...may require u to post a sr 22 bond to drive

  2. Court appearance

  3. If the Police get involved Court. If they do not and you pay for the damage nothing. Just get yourself insurance you may injure or kill someone> driving without it is inexcusably irresponsiblel

  4. If 'you' paid for the damage to be repaired then the owner of the car in front may not take it any further.  If the insurance company has already been informed that you have no insurance they they will inform the police, who will question and probably charge you and you will end up with a minimum of 6 points on your licence.

  5. The person driving uninsured could be jailed in the worst case scenario, but they would more than likely just get 6 points and a heavy fine. The other motorist could sue privately for their repairs and for any injuries. When the person driving without insurance does try to get insurance, lots of insurers wont touch them, and those who will, will charge extra for the offence. The person driving uninsured will have to pay for the cost of the damage to their own car.

  6. depending on the state... either way its your fault...you will have to pay for damage out of pocket and might lose your right to drive

  7. it's against the law to drive without insurance . . you'll be responsible to pay for all the damage to the car out of your own pocket . . you could loose your drivers licence . . and you will be fined . . even if the insurance of the car you hit pays for the car the insurance company will usually sue for the amount they paid out

  8. This is a very serious matter.

The Motor Insurer's Beureau will cover the cost of any personal injury claim made by the innocent party. The uninsured person will be liable to civil action to reclaim the money. This could mean loss of assets equal to the cost of the claim plus the associated legal fees.

Concevably that would mean the bailiffs would visit the person's home and take goods "to the value" or even sequestration of wages or benefits.

The uninsured driver will gain a criminal record (with the associated affect on job prospects etc); will be at risk of having their car confiscated; plus a heavy fine plus disqualification and, depending on the circumstances, a prison sentence.

Personally I would hope also that the uninsured driver's car will be crushed before the driver gets out. They are scum who cost the law abiding motorist an average of £60pa on their premiums.

  9. The uninsured driver would be in the poo, the least the unsinsured driver would be looking at is a driving ban & a fine, prison time could also be imposed too! Points would definitely be added too & on top of that getting insurance would also be a lot harder & more expensive if the uninsured driver ever gets his or her license back!

  10. if there is insurance on the vehicle (which doesnt cover you as a named driver) then that insurance company will pay for the damage to the third party that you hit. providing the police make a successful prosecution of the uninsured driver, then the insurance company will claim their costs back from the uninsured driver. if there was no insurance inforce at all on the vehicle, then it isnt a really big problem for the third party. insurers pay into a pot which is soley used for this type of thing. the third parties repairs will be paid for out of this pot. the down side is - everyone elses premiums go up. i work for an insurance broker.

  11. it depends on the injuries and such but the person you hit could own everything you own and will own for the rest of your life

  12. DuH!  A ban, a huge fine, and expect the rear-ended unfortunate to sue the pants off you.

  13. you'd have to go to court... 2 possibilities

    1. probation

    2. suspension of license

    good luck!
