Drogba Wary of the Trip to Anfield
Chelsea hit man Didier Drogba has warned his side not to take the trip to Anfield lightly, despite their excellent form. The Blues travel to take on Liverpool on Sunday in the English Premier League and according to the Ivoirian striker
they should prepare for a tough challenge from the resurgent Liverpool. He was wary of the Anfield crowd and insisted that his team must not be complacent, come Sunday.
If anyone can take it easy, its Carlo Ancelotti’s side, the Blues are five points clear at the top and have already secured qualification for the knock out stages of the UEFA Champions League. The only disappointment Chelsea faced this
season was the loss to Manchester City, the 1-0 defeat at Eastlands; they have not lost any other game apart from that unfortunate match.
So far, they have dominated their group in the Champions League. Ancelotti’s men have a 100 percent win record so far, winning all their games both at home and away. They recently confirmed a place in the round of 16 with a convincing
4-1 win over Spartak Moscow. They still have to take on Marseille and Zilina, but having beaten those sides already, the Blues won’t be too worried.
Liverpool on the other hand had a poor start to the season, which was mostly because of the ownership battle. But after things were settled down, Roy Hodgson’s have turned their season around with back to back wins in the Premier League,
which saw them move up from the relegation zone. They also continued their success in the Europa League, beating Napoli 3-1 last night.
He told reporters, “There is never a good time to go to Anfield because they are a very strong team. They will try to use this game to start their season, so we have to be ready. We are seeing a different Liverpool
than the one from earlier in the season. They have won their last two matches and their confidence is getting higher.”
He believed that Liverpool were on their way up and that the Blues had to be careful, he added, “We have to be careful. It's true that we shouldn't fear any team but we're going to have some difficult moments.
Since I've been here, Chelsea v Liverpool has been special and it's always a difficult game. We're going there to win but it's not going to be easy.”
