Chelsea’s mercurial forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 has admitted that he is more than happy to have proven his critics wrong and hopes to continue doing the same in the future.
The Ivory Coast international is currently in the last year of his contract with Chelsea and so far, there haven’t been any talks about him extending his stay at the club.
However, the forward went on to score the match winner against Barcelona in a Champions League game and this goal is more than likely to act as a reminder to the club, that the forward is capable of doing just about anything, when he is given the opportunity
to do so.
The striker feels that he has shown everyone just why he should stick around for a season or two and the is quoted to have said: "For those who said that I was too old, they saw that I could run maybe one, two or three more years"
Drogba then went on to turn his attention to the upcoming second leg against Barcelona, as he admitted the team needed to maintain their pressure on the Catalans and look to win the second leg, instead of just defending their lead in the game.
"That's football and I think we were a bit lucky. You have to work for luck to come and to happen. We worked a lot. We worked hard,” he added.

"We have to go there now and try to score another one."
He then went on to mention that it had been a very hard week for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 once again.
"It's a difficult week, difficult 10 days for us after Spurs, this game, and then Arsenal, and then again Barcelona," he said.

"It's going to be an important, very decisive week for us, and I think we're up for it."
Nonetheless, should Drogba continue to play the way that he did against the Catalans and take the chances that he is given, he could prove to be just what Chelsea needed, in order to overcome this very hectic series of matches.
