Dromana Max, a bright prospect for the Ladbrokes Pall Mall Stakes First Semi Final at Oxford
The Ladbrokes Pall Mall Stakes First Semi Final will be hosted by Oxford over 450 metres flat on Thursday, 14th June. Competing for the £150 prize money are Goa Getta, Droopys Loner, You Mind Me, Ballymac Drogba, Castlebride Dan and Dromana Max.
The most promising entry for the race is Dromana Max, Black Shaw’s four-year-old blue son out of b***h, Dromana Amy. His season took off with two training sessions at Nottingham over 305 metres.
On 2nd January he timed the track distance in 18.19 seconds and on 9th January he took 17.91 seconds to settle the race.
He claimed his seasonal debut on 16th January in the Stadium Bookmakers Dual Distance Trophy – Heat 3 at Nottingham over 305 metres. The 11/8 favourite clocked the track distance in 18.12 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Fancy Socks,
by a short head’s difference.
He lost the next two races in line and that led to two more training sessions, again both were at Nottingham and over 305 metres. He raced through the distance in 18.06 seconds on 2nd April and then on 9th April it took him 18.22 seconds.
The race right after that resulted in a fourth position but by 23rd April he composed himself and claimed the first race. He won the Stadium Bookmakers Sprint Trophy at Nottingham over 305 metres by completing the trip in 17.89 seconds. He led
the runner up of the race, Hazy Purty, by a length, who timed the track distance in 17.97 seconds.
Coming at terms with the third position was Dynamo Joe.
On 14th May he won the Betfred Fot Gold Champions Day 480 metres Trophy at Nottingham by reaching the other end of the wire in 29.03 seconds. He shoved the evening’s favourite runner up, Jordansoilutions, by two and a half lengths.
Dromana Max paired up wins by taking command of a 450 metres race at Oxford on 24th May. He was done in 26.91 seconds and finishing the closest was Farloe Ashes who missed the race by 2 ¾ lengths.
His chances of bagging a hat trick changed into a second position in his most recent attempt.
His chances of taking command of the race tonight are quite high.
