Dromana Max targeting the Corona Dual Distance Trophy – Heat 2 at Nottingham for posting the third seasonal win
The Corona Dual Distance Trophy – Heat 2 will be held at Nottingham over 305 metres flat on Monday, 7th May. Taking part in the £125 event are Cavecourt Derry, Bransa Steal, Caribbean Rich, Dromana Max, Wally Billy and Tictac Diamond.
Dromana Max, Black Shaw’s four-year-old blue son out of b***h, Dromana Amy, is the only entry on the line-up who has bagged a victory recently and that too through the most recent start.
He broke into the season by getting tuned for the forth coming races. He got drilled over 305 metres at Nottingham twice, on 2nd January timing the distance in 18.19 seconds and then on 9th January he was done in 17.91 seconds.
Dromana Max’s seasonal debut was in the Stadium Bookmakers Dual Distance Trophy – Heat 3 on 16th January at Nottingham at 305 metres. Being the 11/8 favourite, he bagged the race by timing the distance in 18.12 seconds.
Fancy Socks, the runner up of the race went through the wire in 18.12 seconds, missing the victory by a short head’s difference. Joining the runner up after covering the 4 ¾ lengths’ gap was Jennas Pony, who timed the distance in 18.50 seconds.
Keeping the effect of training alive just for a single race, the four-year-old missed the next two races. He finished fifth and then ended fourth.
Once again the trainer, L. Cook, drilled Dromana Max twice at Nottingham and over the same distance too, 305 metres. On 2nd April he went through the track distance in 18.06 seconds while the trip on 9th April was completed in 18.22
seconds.
His first attempt after the training session was in the Molson Coors Sprint Trophy at Nottingham over 305 metres on 16th April. The race was won by Lissom Jack who clocked the track distance in 18.19 seconds and led the runner up, Funcheon Black,
who took 18.51 seconds to settle the race.
Dromana Max was positioned fourth.
The most recent race and victory was in the Stadium Bookmakers Sprint Trophy on 23rd April at Nottingham over 305 metres. He reached the other end of the wire in 17.89 seconds and had the 4/6 favourite of the race, Dynamo Joe, ending third.
Winning after so long will prompt him for pairing up the wins by winning the race tonight.
