I had wisdom teeth surgery removal on the 22nd of august, i had 3 teeth removed. 1 top wisdom tooth, 1 bottom wisdom tooth & the tooth before that wisdom tooth. I am tired of dribbling food, toothpaste etc, my clothes don't even last me more than a day-that how much i dribble on my cloths! the bleeding stop after the 1st day- i couldn't tolerate the gauze-it set me near vomiting.

the drool is clear apart from the food

Is this normal after wisdfom teeth removal?

How long should this last?

  1. Drooling is usually there till your mouth is numb. Drooling after 8 days of surgery is not normal and it may be due to nerve damage. Sometimes nerves regenerate itself within another week or two but you should contact your dentist about this drooling. Only be will be able to tell you by personally checking. for more information on dental topics you visit www.identalhub.com

  2. you may not have regained all of the feeling in your mouth, if it doesn't go away in a few days you may have permanent nerve damage in your mouth.

  3. That is completely normal. I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled in one day, and the same thing happened to me. It should stop in a few days. Your mouth is just not used to having so many "holes" , so your mouth is going to water a lot, making you drool. completely normal. Just give it time and it should stop.

  4. Hmmm. I don't remember quite that much drooling. I doubt it's going to last much longer.

I sympathize with you and the whole gauze and blood thing. I wanted to puke too.

  5. Don't get too worried, but I think you should probably go back and see the dentist.  After that amount of time you shouldn't be drooling quite that much anymore.  Good luck!
