Droopys Aretha dominated the field by taking away the Ballyregan Bob Memorial Race at Hove on 22nd December
The Ballyregan Bob Memorial Race was hosted at Hove on 22nd December, offering a purse of £1000, and had to be raced over a distance of 695 metres. There were three trainers  with an entry each, that were 5/2 co-favourites, while two hounds were
4/1 joint favourites.
The three co-favourites were Ballymac Pet by M Dartnall, K Findlay’s Fleeting Image, and the third, Seamus Cahill trained Skywalkershearer.
The two joint favourites were Droopys Aretha by Seamus Cahill, and K Billingham’s Farley Zach
Seamus Cahill had two entries for the race, Droopys Aretha and Skywalkershearer. He turned out to be the winning trainer of the race as Droopys Aretha, born in July 2009, won the race with the fastest time of 41.61 seconds.
The daughter of Duke Special out of Droopys Diva had an edge of a length over the runner up of the race while finishing.
Clocking a 41.69 seconds to make it on the other side of the wire was M Dartnell trained Ballymac Pet who broke out of the fourth stall. By merely a shoulder’s length, she was followed by Fleeting Image, thus, both shared the same timing to finish the race.
The fourth position in the race was secured by Farley Zach, who is under trainer, K Billingham. The hound that broke from the second stall was able to make it to the wire in 41.75 seconds.
He was then followed by Seamus Cahill’s other entry, Skywalkershearer, who made it through the wire in 41.78 seconds.
One of his hounds made Seamus Cahill victorious and proud while the other could only finish second last. The last dog to leave the racing field was K Hutton trained Penskey Rain, who put an end to the race in 41.94 seconds.
Droopys Aretha has raced three times during the season since 1st September. The Ballyregan Bob Memorial Race was the fourth time that she has posted a victory in her record. She has raced through Hove, Newcastle, Romford and Wimbledon too, comprising
of all open races.
Droopys Aretha won the Jazz Hurricane Ladies at Hove on 15th September, and then bagged Shebas Magic Ladies on 29th September, at Hove, where she was entered as a joint 6 to 4 favourite.
Her third success was at Hove again, on 30th October, in the Coral Ladies, that she won against Freedom Emma. It took her six defeats to eventually win her fourth race. However, her performance never fell short of consistency.
