Droopys Aretha storms to victory in the 750m Romforddogs.com Maiden Marathon
Droopys Aretha stormed to victory in the 750 metres Romforddogs.com Maiden Marathon Open Race at Romford on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Despite not being the favourite, she did not allow anyone to come closer, and earned a cash prize of £500.
Droopys Aretha’s recent performances have been very good, and it appears that her trainer S A Cahill has been preparing her very well.
A greyhound needs to have good speed, but stamina is also crucial in the longer races. This is what helped the winning b***h overcome the rest of the pack. She started off very well, and continued the momentum until the end.
The brindle b***h had a starting price of 9 to 4, and she covered the race distance in 47.39 seconds, after entering from trap number three. She is the daughter of Duke Special out of Droopys Diva and was born in July, 2009.
Second place went to Head Iton Tom, who gave a tough time to the winning b***h. He was also not the race favourite, but ran very well until the end.
Head Iton Tom entered the race from trap number one, and completed the total distance in 47.77 seconds. His starting price was 5 to 1, and was trained by J Daly, who would have been pleased with the outcome.
The second placed hound is the son of Crash out of Ballymac Choice, and was born in July, 2009.
Bubbly Swallow, trained by N Savva, finished the race in third by just a short head’s margin. She was the favourite with a starting price of 11 to 10, but failed to make a solid impression in the race.
Bubbly Swallow is the daughter of Droopys Vieri out of Westmead Aoifa, and was born in February, 2010.
Fourth place went to Darts Wizard, who completed the race distance in 48.36 seconds, after entering the race from trap number four. He had a starting price of 11 to 2, and was trained by P Simmonds.
Darts Wizard was born in December, 2009, and is the son of Dods Delight out of Coolcullen Rose.
The final two places went to Airforce Ka Ka and Crinkill Jewel, who were two of the least favourite hounds to win the race. They had a starting price of 14 to 1 and 12 to 1, respectively.
Droopys Aretha had a very good race, and she would have earned the confidence of the bettors from this victory.
