Droopys Olly and Romeo In Miami steal the spotlight in the Betfred Bundles Maiden Trophy & the Coral on TV Hurdles Heats, respectively
Monday night, Paul Young’s Droopys Olly bolted at the second bend of the racing track, finishing first in the race in a span of 30.71 seconds.
The final was an open race worth £350. Ballymac Ramos tried to catch up with the winner but he was beaten by two and a quarter length, finishing second in 30.89 seconds.
Salacres Sparky finished the race at the third position in 31.27 seconds and ¾ quarters of a length short of Ballymac Ramos.
Merlins Myth was fourth to cross the wire in 31.35 seconds with a difference of one length from Salacres Sally.
Luminous Park made it fifth in 33.75 seconds and Distant Parker was the last to finish the race in 36.15 seconds.
From the figures it is easy to gauge that Paul Young’s training has paid off well in light of his hound's performance.
The heats for the Coral on TV Hurdles Trophy took place on Monday night at Romford.
In Heat 1, Whiterock Champ finished first in 25.15 seconds, followed by Blonde Banjo in 25.39 seconds, three lengths short of him.
Fast Usain made it third in 25.47 seconds, merely a length short of Blonde Banjo.
Trainer Ricky Holloway's entrant finished the race fourth in 25.77 seconds with a wide gap of 4 ¼ length between him and Fast Usain.
Trainer J.Foster’s contenders, Daring Light and Handy Magic, made it fifth and last in 25.97 and 26.07 seconds, respectively.
However, in Heat 2, Ricky Holloway’s hard work paid off as Romeo In Miami, the greyhound that was in the limelight on Monday, finished the race first in 24.64 seconds.
Aero Vegas was the second contender to finish the race, 6 points and three quarters of a length short of Romeo In Miami.
Belief was third to cross the finish line, with just a point’s difference from Aero Vegas.
Blackhall Prince finished fourth in 24.75 seconds, half a length short of Belief.
Another one of Ricky Holloway’s dogs, Razldazl Zamba, made it fifth in 24.85 seconds, while Paul Young’s Millward Falcon made it last in 24.99 seconds, one and three quarters of a length short of Razldazl Zamba.
Although Ricky Holloway had four contenders competing in the heats, only one of them qualified to the next round.
Romeo In Miami was the quickest to finish the race amongst all the heats and his performance balanced out the failure of Ricky Holloway's other hounds. Hopefully Romeo In Miami would show the same drive in the next race and make his trainer proud.
