Droopys Eric, Tybar Reason joint favourites at Perry Barr – 480m A3 Preview
Droopys Eric, and Tybar Reason set to lock horns for the top the slot in a 480 metre flat Grade A3 Heat, taking place at Perry Barr on Tuesday, February 14, 2012. Both fast and furious hounds have talent and class, and a nerve-wrecking contest is on
the cards.
With a cash prize of £57, the party will begin at 13:27. Although, the heat does not have a huge prize money, every hound’s respect and pride will be at stake. The field comprises of Droopys Eric, Tybar Reason, Magical Marley, Canal View, Ballymac
Emer, and Crossfield Marco.
All contestants are aiming for victory, but Droopys Eric and Tybar Reason will be the centre of attention. The two hounds have been awarded betting odds of 11 to 4, each.
Droopys Eric has always been bettors’ most preferred hound. The black dog displayed an ordinary show in his previous outing, but that does not take anything away from him.
He recorded a couple of good wins last month, and demonstrated a decent show in his penultimate outing. The month of February is yet to see his quality, and the connections are citing this race as a great opportunity for him to get back to his best.
Droopys Eric will not have any comfort on the track, as his big rival, Tybar Reason is on song at the moment. The black dog, Farloe Reason’s son, out of Ellies Express, took the prize home in his previous race on February 4, thrashing Project Manager,
by two and a half lengths. B. Denby’s trainee has an ability to pick up an early pace, and that would be a big plus for him if he does.
Magical Marley is another talented hound, who is enjoying reasonable chances in this contest. Apart from a victory on 7 February, Magical Marley’s recent chances are not impressive at all.
However, the W. Russell-trained will be full of confidence, as he is stepping in with a win to his credit.  Holding the winning probability of 4 to 1, the black coloured dog will not let the favourites take the victory easily.
Canal View, and Ballymac Emer are the lightweights among heavyweights, but an upset can be expected from the duo. The two hounds will start the event with 9 to 2 betting odds, each.
Ballymac Emer’s inability to get an early pace might be her only weak point. The white and black b***h will have to be at her best in a bid to produce a positive result.
On the other hand, Canal View has nothing to attract the punters. The fawn b***h has not done anything special over the past few weeks, and it will be a bit risky to pin many hopes on her.
Crossfield Marco is the least favourite contestant in the competition. After a couple of embarrassing shows last month, the black dog improved his rankings a little, finishing second in his last outing. However, only an upset can guide him to triumph
against this line-up.
Prediction
If you are interested in betting tonight, Droopys Eric, and Tybar Reason are two best choices. However, nobody can rule out the surprise factor out of greyhound racing. Magical Marley is well capable of producing an upset, but Droopys Eric, and Tybar
Reason are definitely joint favourites.
