Droopys Gizmo convinced about the Chris Friel Stakes
Contesting in the Chris Friel Stakes are Letmeseeya, Westmead Aouita, Springdale Hawk, Swabys Olly, Droopys Gizmo and MountJoy Eagle. The line-up of six talented hounds will have to race through 575 metres flat at Romford on Friday, 19th October. The winner will get to take away his share from the prize money of £175.
All have already raced at the open level, some have been more successful than the rest. They have collected from different race tracks, with the exception of Swabys Olly and Springdale Hawk.
The three-year-old brindle and white dog, Droopys Gizmo, had the last five outings at the most premium level. Three of them were at Henlow, and the remaining at Romford.
He has been involved in the racing career since the previous season, and has taken maximum advantage of the prospects put forth.
He won the Autumn 550 Maiden on 20th September, 2012 at Henlow over 550 metres. Racing in orange, he was quick to pick up pace and maintain the lead to the wire which he actually gained when racing in the second position.
The three-year-old clocked the track distance in 34.04 seconds.
Missing the trip to the winner’s enclosure by just half-length mark was the joint favourite, Unlikely Bull.
Keeping a firm grip on the winning composure, he bagged the prize money of the Coral, Bet By Phone 0800 242 232 Maiden Stayers on 28th September, 2012 at Romford over 575 metres.
This time the draw got him racing in the black and white vest. He distanced himself from the rest of the lot, and covered the most of the trip on the wide end, leading from the first position and racing through the wire in 36.21 seconds.
The gap of 3 ½ lengths had Head Teacher settling as the runner-up.
Montos Mark’s dog out of, Droopys Helen, has drawn the fifth trap for the race tonight and the 9 to 2 entry has won when racing in the colours before. Alongside winning, the D. Mullins trained lost the last attempt to the sixth position when racing from the same trap. Failing to break free from the crowd contributed as the major reason for the down low position.
