Droopys Harper, the one to beat in the A2 480m Flat at Swindon
Droopys Harper is the most fascinating candidate in the Grade A2 480m flat race that is taking place at Swindon on Monday, July 2nd. The white and brindle hound was pretty impressive last month, but after making a couple of unlucky starts, he regained his momentum by sealing an emphatic victory over, Mall Return.
After landing the victory in great fashion, K. Hutton’s trainee could not sustain his winning run, and as a result, finished fifth behind, Fabulous Time, on June 22nd. A terrible outcome could have easily dented his confidence, but the dashing hound did not let it happen.
Westmead Hawk’s son was superb last time around. Despite, getting crowded at the first bend, the maverick runner did not lose his determination, and delivered an excellent performance.
He trounced, Chilli Hot Sauce, by ¾ of a length to seize the top spot.
Winning two of the previous three races over 480 metres shows how good of a form he is in. So, one can easily expect him to display a fine show today.
He is going to face five speedy runners including Glenside Pearl, Lord Sugar, Kilkenny Calling, Durrow Fantasy, and Swift Major. The £95 meeting is scheduled to begin at 14:57 (GMT).
Durrow Fantasy will try to put the pigeon amongst the cats. The white and black b***h was third in her last two outings, and it showed that luck is not on her side these days.
Lord Sugar was a close winner last time, and deserves some respect. However, the punters must realize that the black dog is not one of the consistent runners.
Swift Major isn't the betting favourite for a reason today, and the reason is that, he hasn't been the best in his last few outings.
Glenside Pearl boasts some quick sectionals, and deserves a lot of respect on those. Yet, if she fails to sway things in her favour right from the beginning, the situation will get mighty difficult for her.
According to our calculations, Droopys Harper has an obvious chance of grabbing the first prize. Lord Sugar will look to make things tricky for the favourite runner, but it is going to be an uphill task for him.
