Droopys Hope seals Stakes Final title
The G. Oswald-trained black b***h, Droopys Hope, convincingly claimed the ace title of the Betfred Gymcrack Stakes Final here at Kinsley racecourse on Tuesday night, June 26.
The high-profile Open Race over 462 metres had colossal prize money worth £6000. The brilliant b***h broke from the black box when the action began at 21:45 (GMT).
On her way towards the finish line, Droopys Hope had to face a lot of resistance from the hot favourite runner Blazing Ruso who broke from the blue box.
The P. Rosney-trained white and fawn dog seemed to be aggressive enough from the very beginning of the race, producing an electric pace and leading all the five rivals. But the 7-4 favourite sprinter could not able to demonstrate smooth and constant run,
therefore, gave a chance to Droopys Hope to outstrip him.
Droopys Hope took a little bit slow start but perked up her pace suddenly to set herself on the driving seat. The talented daughter of Ace Hi Rumble out of Droopys Darjina ran with clean pace till crossing the finish line in 27.21 seconds, 1 ½ lengths ahead
of Blazing Ruso.
At the end of the race, Oswald’s assistant John McGee stated, “I said the draw wouldn’t be a problem she's run her heart out. She could be very good, we’ll have a discussion where we go now.”
This victory was a great value addition to the profile of Droopys Hope who had bagged two consecutive runner-up ranks during the first twenty days of June. Both of these were Open Race that also took place at Kinsley.
In the month of May, the talented b***h accomplished two back-to-back triumphs with big margins---one in T2 and the other in OR format.
Overall, the novice runner has made various glaring marks since starting her career in March 2012.
With Blazing Ruso standing second in the Stakes Final, Rathanny Ruso finished third on the podium. Among the other hounds, Whittle Murtagh grabbed fourth position while Maglass Rumble claimed 5th spot. Come Fly With Me was the runner to cross
the boundary line in the end.
As a whole, the race was amazing to watch. The spectators enjoyed it a lot. Oswald was greatly pleased at his pupil’s remarkable achievement.
