Droopys Pride to swing back into form for the Owlerton Bookmakers Puppy Sprint
Sheffield will become home for the Owlerton Bookmakers Puppy Sprint over 280 metres flat on Tuesday, 26th June. The entry, which will most likely to go home with the £200 prize money is Droopys Pride, backed up by 6 to 4 odds.
Competing alongside are Magna Rumble, College Olympic, Glass Half Full, Demesne Tornado, and Penniment Mick.
Blackstone Gene’s two-year-old black son, out of b***h Exiles Pride, got started with her career by drilling 280 metres at Sheffield on 26th March. He was through in 16.76 seconds.
On 2nd April, he dominated his career debut at Sheffield over 280 metres. He concluded the distance in 16.24 seconds, and defeated his rivals by five and one-half lengths.
After bumping and finishing third, Droopys Pride got back into form, and kept a firm grip on the 280 metres race on 30th April by timing it in 16.14 seconds. He kept the runner-up of the race, Rooneys Twitter, adrift by 3 ¾ lengths.
He downed the Grade D1 280 metres flat race on 5th May at Sheffield. The winner was on the other end of the wire in 16.26 seconds.
Finishing the closest was, Farloe Hulk, and reserving the third position was, Two For Atanner.
The favourite, Demesne Tornado, ended fourth.
After a training session on 16th May at Sheffield over 480 metres, the two-year-old struck a hat-trick on 22nd May.
He was entered as a favourite in the Grade D1 280 metres flat race, and wrapped it up in 15.99 seconds. Moving Marge, the runner-up, was defeated by 3 ¼ lengths, and took 16.25 seconds to clock the distance.
This was the last time that he won a race, as the three outings that followed resulted in a second, fifth and then a third position.
The E. Parker trained is getting the chance of composing his form, and capturing the race tonight. He will need to look out for, College Olympic, who drilled recently, and is targeting the race as the potential third leg for a hat-trick.
