Droopys Vito storms his way to victory in the Primus Telcom Puppy Derby Trial Stakes

Droopys Vito stormed his way to victory in the 460 metres Grade OR Primus Telcom Puppy Derby Trial Stakes at Henlow on Thursday, January 12, 2012. The cash prize of the event was £150.

Since this was a puppy race, all greyhounds taking part in it were below the age of 24 moths.
With a starting price of 1 to 4, Droopys Vito was the favourite to win. He certainly lived up to his reputation by winning the race comprehensively.

There was no other hound, who could challenge the race winner, as he displayed express speed throughout the 460m race.
Droopys Vito went into the race from trap number three, and covered the race distance in 28.36 seconds. All the other hounds seemed to have run out of gas in front of the race winner, trained by D. Childs.
The triumphant dog is the son of Droopys Vieri out of Droopys Jean and was born in March 2010.
Pantone Ava finished closest to the race winner, but was unable to pose any sort of challenge for him. The second placed hound covered the overall distance in 28.79 seconds, which was 0.43 adrift of Droopys Vito.
The D. Mullins trained b***h popped out from trap number one, and had a starting price of 5 to 1. She is the daughter of Kinloch Brae out of Dear Frankie, born in April 2010.
Third place went to Dunham Eden, trained by J.A. Houfton.
He was the only other hound other than the top two to clock a time inside the 28 seconds barrier, finishing the race in 28.92 seconds.
Dunham Eden broke into the race from trap number two, and had a starting price of 12 to 1. He was born in May 2010 and is the son of Clash Harmonica out of Droopys Eclipse.
Little Thanks completed the race in 29.05 seconds, taking the fourth place. She had entered the race from trap number five with the starting price of 8 to 1.

The daughter of Shaneboy Lee and Patterdale Chloe is trained by D.R. Jinks. The fourth placed b***h was born in May 2010.
The final spot was taken by Dunham Smuggler, who had a starting price of 16 to 1. He was the least favourite to win and did not spring up any surprises in the end.
J.A. Houfton’s dog completed the race distance in 29.20 seconds. He is the son of Toms The Best out of Stealing Reason and was born in June 2010.
