I had my iPod into my bag and water filled it up, for a estimate of 30 minutes.

I took it out, and now it isn't coming on, I plugged it into the computer and it detects an unknown USB source, then undetected it.

(The screen is blotchy) What should i do?

  1. You could try leaving the iPod out in the sun to evaporate the moisture or put it in a bowl or uncooked rice to absorb it, but you've basically got a 50-50 shot as to whether it'll work again.  Hopefully you'll get lucky, because water damage is not covered in the warranty (if yours is still active).

  2. If you leave it in the sun in an air conditioned house will evaporate the water in the unit fast and then and only then do you turn it on! About a day will do with the batteries removed and the case left open! Oh and don't leave it in direct sun light as this might melt it!

  3. I'm really sorry, but it's probably broken. you could try to let it dry, but there's a good chance it won't work again.
