Dropping/Withdrawling from a class?

Okay here is my dilemma. I recieve financial aid (loans and grants) and due to my job, i have to drop one of my classes. My question is school just started today, and tomorrow is the last day to drop or add a class. If i drop the class today will it show up on my academic record as dropped or a withdraw. Also will this effect my aid for this semester and next?

Thanks

  1. Since you have until tomorrow to drop the class, if you do it today it will NOT show up as a W on your transcript.

It will only affect your financial aid if your status changes.  If dropping that class takes you out of full time status (at least 12 hours) then yes, it will affect how much aid you get.

Also, aid is figured for the year when you fill out your FAFSA.  Each semester, you only get the full amount if you're enrolled full time, otherwise it's adjusted to reflect how many hours you're enrolled in.  It will not affect your next semester at all.
