Dropping out of school?

I was just wondering what you understand this to say.

I was reading it for Massachusetts, and was wondering that if a child 16 years old can legally drop out of high school, or choose when they want to go, or if the parent must allow them to drop out.

Just read this, and tell me in your own terms.

I understand that once a child turns 16, Trune Officers/DSS cannot mandate the child to go to school, but can just encourage it.

  1. Look, I dropped out of school at 15. It sounds like a fantastic idea. Working minimum wage blows. Which is what you will do most of your life. Then you will have to go get your GED to get a decent job anyway or go to college, which means going back to school. Ironic huh? Which is much harder now. Once you get that you will still be stuck in a c**p job. The economy sucks, especially right now. It's taken me 9 years to get up to 14 bucks an hour. As soon as your parents are done paying your way, you are gonna be out barely scraping by. You've got what? 3 years left? Say s***w the friends and whatever other distractions you have. Stick it out, learn all you can, get a killer gpa, go to college. Even if it takes a bit longer. Get all the help you can. Keep your face in books. Ask for help if you need it. You have the whole world at your fingertips. Use yahoo answers for school questions instead of this. Get a student loan if you need. Most degrees take under a year. 3 years of hard work is way better than 60 more years of struggle. or at least get your ged immediately and get in school while you still have your parents support. Do that then email me back in 3 or 4 years to thank me for your sweet ride, cool house and 50" plasma tv. I'm 24 now. I wish I could have taken my own advice. I don't know your situation, but I DO know mine. So stick it out.

  2. that's what it sounds like to me.
