Question:

Drug overdose - can brain get worse over time?

Hi everyone. 2 weeks ago i did a really hellishly stupid thing and overdosed on either meth or mdma when i was was drunk at a party. (first time drug-user).

I've felt depressed and anxious 24/7 since and haven't slept well at all, althought i've eaten very well and exercised.

My question is.. can the brain ever continue to decline afterwards or will it begin to repair itself?

It wouldn't seem to make sense if the former were true but is it possible?

Will eating healthy, exercising and drinking lots of water help?

thanks!

  1. Once you kill brain cells, they're gone.  The more you do drugs the more cells you kill.  It also is bad on your heart.  I have a 40 yr old sister who has already had a heart attack and wears a pacemaker.  And she is one of the dumbest blondes you'll ever meet, her brain has been so fried, even though she quit drugs some time ago.  The brain does not recover.  But it won't decline further unless you keep giving it drugs/alchohol...

The depression and anxiousness should clear up soon.  Find yourself some spirullina or cholrella to help remove toxic residue.  You can find those at a heathfood store.  Now you know why people on drugs get dumber and dumber and die early.

  2. You might just be going through withdrawal. Yeah eating healthy, exercising and drinking water always help. Your brain should function as usual, and you should feel better after your body gets over it. Sweating is helpful, so exercise or go to a sauna as much as you can. Just stick to your plan, and you will get feeling better in no time!

  3. If you care anything about the health of your

body....and your ability to sexually satisfy

your wife, when you get one....and the ability

to provide unadulterated sperm that will give

you a lovely and intelligent baby to carry your name and maybe look like you and love you for the rest of your life, then you WON'T

put yourself into this very dangerous situation  of causing your entire future to

    be a waste.

I will be honest with you, depending on

whether you got bad meth (and most of it

is) and depending on your physical

condition at the time, and depending on

what OTHER c**p you had in your body,

you may just have killed some brain cells

that may or may not regenerate.  Scare you? I sure the h**l hope so.

What you had best do is some intensive

research in various places on the best

foods and supplements to feed the brain

and hope it can repair the damage.

I sure hope you can stop others from doing

the same thing as you, or we will have

a nation of mentally deficient people in this

country.  We are already heading that way.

  4. No you did not kill barin cells to any appreciable degree.  Sometimes drugs can alter the membrane permiability of certain cells in the brain and aletr the chemistry.  Yes you can get a little worse at first.  But you will recover just fine.  It really is not a question of repair.  It is a question of the cells going back to their normal level of function.  Really the only thing that will help is time and getting back on a normal routine.  You are not going through withdrawl and your sympoms are not from killing brain cells.  Your nervous systems chemistry is a little screwed up because the "gates" in your cells are a little messed up and your chemistry is off as well.
