Drug test, pee test??

when you go somewhere to try and get a job and they make you go take a pee test or drug test, well how far back do they usually check to see if you did anything???

They usually just use the test that they have you pee in ( that day).  If that was the case, then I'm sure half the population would not have jobs. lol

It depends on which drugs they are testing for.

Some stay in your system for over a month. Some metabolize in a couple days.

If you want to pass a drug test I have a little secret for you:

it takes a month for dank to get out of your system all the rest are gone in about three days except acid which sticks to your spine they dont check how far back they just wanna know if its in your system you should just get a system flush it costs like 30 bucks

They check to see if theres anything in your system. Drugs vary on how long they will stay detectable in your urine,hair,and blood.

Best just not to do them at all.  

Some one on top said that hair and blood are permanent this isnt true. The only place its permanent is the spinal cord.

I recently had this done.

They made me sign a form that said I had to take the test within 24 hours of signing the form.

No, they do not check for alcohol, but they do check for illegal substances.

All I had to do was pee in a cup.

No biggie.

Weed is the one drug that will stay in your system for more than a couple of weeks usually about up to a month other than that you should be good just drink a lot of water to flush ur system out

A typical urine drug test can only detect if you have done most drugs in the past three days. You will probably fail the test if you consume poppy seeds (there was a myth busters episode that checked).

As far as timing goes, standard practice is to mail you a chain of custody form, and require you to get tested the day you receive the form. Thus if seeking employment it is important to avoid using drugs entirely until after testing is complete. If you are subject to random testing once hired, then doing drugs at all is a high risk proposition. If you want to use illicit drugs then you should avoid choosing a career that uses drug testing.

There is a more rarely used test where they take a hair sample for testing. That can go back several months or even longer, but it is prone to false positives. For the hair test just being around someone else who is using drugs can cause a false positive result. It is more useful at proving oneself innocent than for prosecution or employment screening.

They cannot give different tests to go back different amounts of time (for urine) - it depends on the drug and how long it stays in your system.  

Google "5-Panel Drug Test", that is typically the type employers use.

Google whatever drug you are concerned about.  For instance "How long does [DRUG] stay in your system?".

If they do a hair or blood test that is a different story but I have never worked for an employer who did anything other than a urine test.
