Drug test at the pediatrician?

I'm 16 years old and ive been having a tough time in school and i'm pretty sure i have ADD, but my mom is completly against me getting tested and having to take pills. So i've had to cope with it.

My ADD makes studying completly impossible, ive tried, im not lazy. So this last week ive had my finals and my cousin lent me some of her adderall. I've been taking it for the last 6 days, twice a day (one for the test, and one for studying at night).

My mom just told me that i'll be having my physical soon and they always make you pee in a cup.

do they drug test it?

if so what do i do?

  1. We pediatricians don't test for drugs in the urine as part of our routine. Not all pediatricians do routine urine tests anyway. Most of us will tell you if we are sending a specimen to an outside lab for drug testing.

Talk about your problem with your pediatrician. He or she should be willing to act as an intermediary with your mother. But nevertheless, without parental permission, you won't be on Adderal.

Adderal and most similar medication are Schedule II drugs, meaning their use is monitored by the Drug Enforcement Administration. You and your friend could run afoul of the DEA even though your intentions are good.

  2. adderall isn't going to be tested for.  If you're worried stop taking it 3 days before the test.  The only drug that really stays in your system longer than that is weed.

  3. **sigh** Christie ... you should confide in your parents ... your being dishonest ....

At least discuss this with your pediatrician ... if he ever has to treat you ... he should know that you are taking a substance that wasnt prescribed by him ....

Do you know anything about the drug your taking? The dos and donts as far as using other drugs with it ... food that may inhibit its proper absorption, etc ....

It is not ok to take someone elses meds ...

And no there is no drug screen as a routine test ....
