Question:

Drum Practice Pads...help?

I'm in my high-school's snare drum line and we are required to all have a Practice Pad. I have played the snare for a short amount of time and have never heard of such a thing.

Do you have any recommendations for a CHEAP, though decent practice pad? I'm on a tight budget.

Thanks

  1. drum practice pad is just a block of wood with a rubber covering so that it feels like a drum face w/ the bounce but w/o the noise.

you can get a small circular block of finished wood from Home depot and just use a piece of rubberized matting like the underflooring of the hardwood flooring material from Home Depot and just cover the piece of wood and you are all set.

  2. Go to any music instrument store and they should have them.  You might find them cheaper on line but it will take some time to get it.

My son played drums in his high school band and he loved it so much.  Made may life long friends.

    Go Band.

  3. A practice pad is nothing more than a piece of wood with a rubber pad to use to bounce on.  I would think it would be easy to make, just use a rubber mat from a kitchen department , cut a circle out a bit smaller that a drum center and glue it onto a wood base.

  4. Practice pads aren't that much.  You can find a decent one for under 20 bucks.

  5. Any Remo practice pad is probably pretty cheap. Your high-school should provide those things!! talk to your music teacher... Check this out..
