Drum covers for quiet practicing?

Question

is there anything to cover drum heads so they arent as loud (bass included) while practicing? ive heard of mesh covers but cant find them anywhere really... o, cymbal covers too

Yeah, I just throw an old bed sheet over the snare and toms and buy "moon gel" for the cymbals or duct tape some folded paper towels under the cymbals like a big bandaid.  but be careful, if you hit the cymbals hard enough while trying to mute the at the same time the will break.  they are trying to do what they were made for (vibrate) but you wont let them.  kind of like dropping an ice cube into hot water. for the bass drum beater, I put old socks over it and tie it with a rubber band. kapish?
