Drumna Ice, the real deal in Showsec Scurry Cup - 1st Semi-final at Belle Vue
Drumna Ice’s fantastic debut success suggests that he is the one to support in the first semi-final of Showsec Scurry Cup, taking place at Belle Vue on Thursday, October 11th.
The brindle dog travelled very nicely in the trials, and continued the fine work on his debut at the start of this month. The opening round of Showsec Scurry Cup saw him demonstrating an excellent show.
An early pace helped the debutant put tremendous amount of pressure on rest of the pack. Charlie Lister’s charge attained a handsome lead in the beginning, and stayed ahead until the finishing line.
Following an outstanding effort, the son of Ballymac Maeve sealed the first rank by one and a quarter lengths. After doing a superb job on the first outing, Drumna Ice is brimming with high confidence.
He belongs to a famous kennel, and is unlikely to become complacent after debut success. The 3-year-old is going to face five powerful hounds today. Among his opponents are: Jumeirah Dubai, Klup, Slick Seabreeze, Judys Bloom and Moyar Rambler.
As per the schedule, the 260 metres contest will be kicked off at 20:13 GMT. The winner of this meeting will get not only a place in the grand finale, but also a handsome prize of £150.
Slick Seabreeze must show an extra yard of pace to the first turn. K. Allsop’s charge suffered plenty of mess, and finished third last time.
Klup, the local hound, raised a few eyebrows with shock win in the first round. The black dog lacks experience at this level, but still one should not rule him out of the equation.
Jumeirah Dubai is in fine fettle, and should be in the firing line. The black dog won the first-round race easily by one and a half lengths. The draw is a huge concern though. On the other hand, Moyar Rambler appears to have a bit to find on form.
Drumna Ice’s debut success was very special, and it is hard to look elsewhere for the winner. The bettors can take a chance on him, and he won’t be disappointing. We wish the best of luck to all the contenders.
