Question:

Dry, itchy red skin around groin area?

This is really uncomfortable for me to ask, so keep that in mind. But I want to get help for it in case it is something serious.

About a year ago, I developed a rash-like red area around my groin. Only in a small circle around my groin. I have sensitive skin, so I thought I had applied the wrong cream to it and gotten hives there. I ignored it, but it got sore quickly. I suspect I have been scratching in my sleep ever since then, because it is VERY itchy.

When I grow new skin over my rash, is it dry, itchy, and flaky and when I wake up the next morning I find it is all scratched off.

I have tried Aloe, creams, everything to soothe this, but nothing works! It's getting worse: Now my groin area is more itchy than ever and is also sore at the same time.

I am thirteen and I have never had s*x. I am too embarrassed to tell my parents, and I don't know what to do!

Please appreciate this was very uncomfortable for me, and it may be for me too. If I get no answers, I'll tell my mom.

Please answer me, however awkward it seems!

  1. Awww bless you hunny... This must have been difficult to express to others... i am sorry to hear about this... please dont be embarrassed to tell your mum i am sure she would be understanding even though it is so hard for you to tell her. You could make a secret appointment at the doctors without telling your parents and to go by yourself... Also it doesnt have to be your mother that you tell it could be any other close adult that you trust and that could take you to the doctors... I dont want to scare you but it might go infected so its better to have it checked out :)

Dont worry take care and have confidence in yourself :)

  2. dude, that's jock itch. Its actually a male yeast infection. Go to a drug store and get a yeast infection creme, if your embarrassed, act like your getting it for your girl.

  4. You need to tell your mother you have a rash down there.  Man up and just do it.  Or else tell her you do not feel well at all and see a doctor.  Tell the doc in private and he will tell you what to do.  Other than that, ride your bike to walgreens and get some exema itch ointment stuff.

***One important note***:  Do not use soap in the shower on the area.  Will make it way worse.

  5. maybe you have jocks itch...its kind of like ringworm...try to keep it very clean..and try to buy antifungul creams and put some on there but be careful because it can spread..so dont scratch! u will just be spreading it on ur skin

oh and when u buy the antifungul creams in the back of the cream it should say for jocks itch!

try this website! oh and i hope u get better!!

  6. It might seem uncomfortable for you, but you should go see a doctor, i used to have the same thing as you, but on my arm joint, and it was really itchy and red,

So i went to the doctor and he gave me this special cream and yeah its gone now. I dont think ts something serious, if so you would see some yellow growing over the red.

Anywho I'm telling yo go to the doctors before it gets bigger.

  11. I know it's possibly embarrassing for you, but you most likely need to tell someone who can get you to a doctor to get looked at....you don't really want to leave things like that unchecked for so long, especially in such a sensitive area. Just weigh the inconvenience of being embarrassed to the possibility of this rash worsening ...or something even more drastic. That should make it a bit easier to confide in someone about.
