Dry Eye??? Someone help?

This morning I woke up and my left eye was tearing like crazy. It burned a little and I closed my eyes and tried going back to sleep and it started tearing again. I was annoyed, got up, and looked in the mirror at my eyes. My left eye was not completely bloodshot, but it was sort of red and pretty glossy. I thought maybe it would be pink eye, but I then thought of dry eye syndrome. I was thinking about it and all of my symptoms matched dry eye. My eyes constantly teared, the tearing stop, but my eye feels very dry and uncomfortable, and sometimes burns a little. I DO WEAR CONTACTS, and I heard contacts can cause dry eye syndrome.

I know there is no cure for dry eye syndrome, but does it ever go away naturally, or is it with you the rest of your life?

  1. You probably don't have dry eye.  It sounds like you have a red eye of some sort caused by your contacts.  Take you contacts out and go to an eye doctor to get it checked out.

  2. There s acctually a eye drop that cures chronic dry eye make before using it check with an opomitrist

  3. There are many possibabilty to wht might happen to ur eye. Do get an eye check with ur eye doc and get to the bottom of the problem. It might be that u have over wear the lenses, or the eyes r really dry or that the eye health is not as good. If u have dry eyes, get the resfresh plus. It is very good for dry eyes.

  4. I'm not sure about eye dry syndrome, but see a doctor asap.

    Also try eye drops.

  5. It could be dry eye, or an infection like pink eye.  If it's all crusty tomorrow when you wake up, it's probably pink eye.  If you have severe dry eye and over the counter drops don't work, your doctor could give you prescriptions ones to try to help.  Sometimes it does go away naturally, sometimes it needs aids like eye drops or plugs that go in your tear ducts.  Fish oil or Flax seed (in pill form) is also suppose to help with dry eyes.  Good luck!

  6. Try some lubricant made for contacts...(something like blink rewetting drops from amo)...its advised to use lubricants to keep the eye moisture balanced while u use contacts...when the moisture level goes down, ur eyes can become very dry and sting a lot! hurts big time...

so buy urself a lubricant...it sure helps.... if it doesnt and if u experience pain / redness even after using lubricants, go and consult with ur doc...
