If you were underwater and near enough to it, could you get hurt? (ie damage to your ears or eyes, etc)

  1. Yes.  For sure.

  2. yes you can, here is a underwater video

  3. nah. You could throw liquid nitrogen into a pool and jump in afterwards unscathed. the temperature of the liquid nitrogen, (or dry ice) will increase drastically when hitting the warm water.

  4. You'd definitely get hurt! The piece of dry ice would probably hit the bottom and shatter, throwing shrapnel everywhere. And if anyone touched it, even by accident, they would get a serious frostbite.

  5. yes.. and trust me it hurts like h**l

  6. I've held dry ice before.

  7. If it causes a shockwave through the water then yes, it would.  A shockwave travelling through water of enough strength can puncture eardrums.

  8. yeah

  9. probably the rapid expansion of the carbon dioxide woulsd do you no good. not sure how bad though but i wouldnt want to be in there. =D
