  1. dry slope is harder and more painful!! snow is just better, more stable, more uniform. poles can be for balance and for extra pushing if you are doing a bit of cross country. =D enjoy your holiday you lucky thing!!

  2. I go dry slope skiing/snowboarding all the time! :) I'm going tomorrow actually lol :)

Its a wee bit harder than on snow because snow can be more forgiving with mistakes, but if you practice on dry slope it is MUCH easier to ski/board on snow so you will be better :)

The pole for skiing? There just to keep balance i think and to go faster

    Have fun in Austria! :)

  3. Dry slopes are great to learn on...

The basics are the same for dry or snow, but snow glides better and makes things flow easier...

I've been a dry slope instructor for 20 years, it really makes a difference if people learn and then continue to ski on dry slope throughout the year instead of just 1 week on snow, then the same next year....

Dry slope isn't as good as snow, but its still worth practising on it!

Is there an indoor snow slope near you? They use the same snow making technology as they do in the alps.....

  4. ITs just differnt. Its a great way to start skiing, however it is harder when you fall. Youll be fine, the poles are just for balance and propulsion, there used a lot more on real snow. Oh have a good time in Austria and say hallo to my uncle Albert. Cheers
