I've been wearing contacts for years and everything has been fine until I started using birth control..Now my eyes are really dry and feel irritated as soon as I put contacts in. I've tried using many different kinds of eye drops and i still cant wear them..What is a good contact brand for dry eyes? And a good kind of eye drop? Any other suggestions for what I can do to help?

  1. You should go see an eye doctor. There might be a reaction with the fluid from your birth control pills that comes out and the fluid from your eye drops or your contacts.

  2. Birth control can cause problems like you are experiencing.  Since you stopped using the birth control it will probably take a little time for your hormone levels to adjust back to normal.  There are some brands of contact lenses that are better for dry eyes such as proclear and acuvue oasys.  You may want to try switching to one of those brands.

  3. Kathleen, please go to the eye dr. right away.  There is a problem with the usage of birth control pills and contacts and you can contract a very bad dry eye which can cause the eye to detach at the retina.

  4. Proclear might be suitable for u.
