Dry eyes from Lasik?

I am hearing from people that their eyes are sandy dry after surgery of lasiks. Even after an year. Is this true? If i get lasik, my eyes will always become dry?

  1. Dry eyes are quite common after Lasik, although it seems that newer developments make it less common. I had Lasik eight years ago and deal with dry eyes. I worked for the doctor who did my surgery and did research on his patient's and their outcomes...after upgrading to newer technology his patients developed far fewer side effects...


  2. Dry eyes are often a side effect of this procedure so that's why people who already have dry eyes are considered poor candidates for it. Some people get it worse than others. I know someone who had LASIK done almost two years ago and she still has to use eye drops regularly.
