Hello I had a wisdom tooth out and it was painful a week or more later, i can feel it's an infection and the dentist gave me some antibiotics which helped. But when the 5 day course finished it was still a bit sore so i went back to get some more and the dentist said it's probably not an infection (which i can feel it is!) but maybe a dry socket so who am i to argue he put some dry socket dressing on it and now i have that taste (which is fading away thankfully after 2 days) and he told me the dressing would stay there for a week or 2 then dislodge itself automatically!! Is this right and can I just pull it out myself as the dentist is pretty sure it's NOT a dry socket (he was just being careful because I had pain) can i just get someone with tweezers to pull it out or is there chance of cutting my gums?

  1. IF YOUR DENTIST PLACED IT, LEAVE IT ALONE

  2. OMG DO NOT pull it out. I had dry socket once. Just leave it in there, it will fall out. Also, take some motrin and it will make the pain a lot better, since it is an anti inflammatory. It works much better than painkillers.
